Other Photoshop features made available in Elements include the new Mask & Clone Suggestions panel within the Brush tool, a new Pencil tool, new Content Aware Fill, and the Found Improves panel. Photoshop CC provides even more tools and tweaks, including the ability to apply creative styles to layers, make adjustments to the Face tool, convert layers to curves, paint in videos, throw backgrounds away, accurately match tones in RAW files, and more.

Adobe’s final October update for 2023 includes the ability to search cloud documents in recents, as well as improvements to the selection and blending modes, RAW file support for the new Pixel-Perfect features, ability to create 360-degree images, and sweeping changes to the Performance Panel. Overall, this update brings Elements even closer to Photoshop’s functionality. At the core of this workflow are the tools that allow you to manipulate your image. The Photoshop tools are grouped into six categories:

Select: Select which parts of your image you want to work with. Select can be used for finding and understanding parts of your images, adding and subtracting parts of images, and localizing changes you make to one part of the image by using a more specific tool.
Define a Fill: Fill the selected areas with a color or pattern and/or apply the selected path.
Blend Modes: The blend modes display the selected image with the knowledge of the actual colors behind them. The different blending modes (which you can discover by clicking on the tools in the workspace or by pressing the “B” key on your keyboard) can be applied to part of the image or even the entire image.
Composite: Using the gradient tool, you can now create added effects on photos. You can add and subtract from the original photo without losing the important information in the original, or you can override the original image with extra images or photos
Create Layers: You can create as many layers as you need to isolate different features of your image. Layers enable you to add, subtract, and modify their parts while retaining all the visual information from the original layers.
Shape Tools: The shape tool offers a whole host of options that allow you to create and move objects in the original image.
