You have to be more than familiar with using photoshop and the like to be able to modify text in a reasonable fashion, as it’s non-intuitive to the point of being impossible.
Why wouldn’t you pay them a fortune to simply teach you the basics of photoshop, illustrator and similar programs.
The interface is not intuitive to say the least.
Then there’s the fact that you have to do a lot of fiddling to get it to print right.
It looks like a nice program, but until it can produce a decent print file (standard size), I’ll pass on it.
I have used it for some time, but as a professional graphic designer, I have been looking for the time for the last few years. It has a lot of potential, but it is too much for a hobbyist. I am a hobbyist, not an expert, and the interface is not intuitive to say the least.
I mean, I’m an old fart and I’m accustomed to menus with icons, not tabs with arrows that you need to go through in order to reach your target. There is a proper version available, but this one is so far out of its league it is not even worth recommending it.
Ok, so a bit of a long response, but I feel it is important.
I’ve been using Grafikon for a couple of months, and I’m still trying to figure out the application and its features. I’m a graphic designer (not professional) and I use this application to design business cards, posters and brochures.
So, I’m using it to the fullest extent of what I need to do (i.e. designing). But, I just can’t seem to figure out why the interface is so darned hard to use.
As for the application itself, it is easy to use, but it is REALLY hard to get the font and text sizes right. It is a pain to use.
As for the desktop application, it is pretty useless. I just can’t find a way to quickly generate a report or print a page without going through 100 tabs to get to the options and controls to make it happen. I can’t figure out how to get to the “preferences
