OLSR daemon API:
To use olsrd with your applications you need to have the same common plugin API.
As mentioned earlier the plugin API is generic. This means that plugins must only need to understand a interface of olsrd and be able to use the provided API functions. All the internal functionality of the daemon is hidden from the plugins.

At first you need to compile and install the plugin manager(include olsrd, mpr and mprlib) the plugin interface with olsrd and load the plugins in one process:

OLSR daemon Plugin interface:
Plugin interface is a set of functions provided by Olsr that allows the plugins to access the complete functionality of the daemon and perform necessary actions.
The plugin interface functions can be divided into three sections:
* olsr plugins
* mpr plugins

* olsr_plugin_start(plugin name): Starts the plugin

OLSR is based upon two concepts:
1. Multi-point Relay
OLSR uses the concept of Multi-Point Relay. The basic idea behind Multi-Point Relay is that OLSR routers send packets to each of the other OLSR routers with the same destination. The number of routers that the packet is sent through can be determined at the time the packet is sent and is used to select the most appropriate router.
The Multi-Point Relay can be implemented in two ways. The first is to select a single router at random and send packets to that router. The second is to send a packet to all routers at once, and use their response to select which router to forward the packet to.
Multi-Point Relay can be thought of as a combination of multicast routing and Multi-Point Packet Relay (MP-Packet Relay).
2. Multi-point Packet Relay
Multi-point Packet Relay is a technique that will send a packet to all routers at once, and use their response to select the most appropriate router.
The use of Multi-Point Packet Relay is not strictly required in OLSR. You can use it at a higher speed, but it’s recommended to use it at all routers. Multi-Point Packet Relay is more than an order of magnitude faster than sending packets one by one, so you can expect a real performance increase.
