The expanded find-anyone feature from Lightroom is finally here. It’s like a searchable contact book, scanned in files friendly, previewable and where you can chat with reviewers on each image. When you find someone or a group of people you’d like to talk about a particular image with, you can send an email or tag them in a text post right inside of Photoshop. You can also click on the quick find, at the top of the image to find that person quickly. (Note: To send emails, you need to be on the desktop, not mobile.)

The Apple Pencil works with Photoshop since version 15 as a pressure sensitive to give your paints a more authentic brush feel. It has finally made its debut in version 18. The new Pencil tools are several steps forward, allowing you to retrace, free form within the layer and draw straight paths. There are also new brush settings including Type, Scratch and Shape. You can also hold down the Pencil button when drafting to add detail, align and transform.

When working on a design that includes lots of colors, images, and text, it’s important to keep in mind that there are no such things as bad colors—just different ones. If you need to clean up a color that’s too overbearing, go to the Color panel (which you can access by clicking on the color bar on the left side of the screen) and click on More Tools. Then click the Spot Healing Brush icon to isolate the color and fix it.

Use the Refine Color dialogue to replace the color of any area of your image. Your selection is shown as a greenish block with a magenta line through it. Use the Type tool to fix small areas of color, and the Spot Healing Brush tool to fix larger areas of color.

When you want to add more colors, first make sure all of your layers are visible, and then select the Layer Panel (which is in the editing toolbar) and choose the Create New Fill or Adjustment layer icon in the panel to the right of the Layer Panel if you don’t have any fill or adjustment layers created yet.
