If you haven’t been using it, Photoshop is the most powerful piece of image-editing software you’ll ever have access to.

I’ve recently upgraded to Lightroom 5.2 (RC). I had a couple of questions about how this new version integrates with the CC suite and I had a few other things to review. So far I’m pretty happy with Lightroom 5.2, but have some issues. I’ll run trough it in the order I came to know of. But first a little disclaimer. This is a review of a new version of Lightroom (5.2) and not the current stable release (5.2). Still, I expect it to be a stable version of Lighroom prior to the final release soon.

The Shadow and Gradient tools apply areas of color or fill them with color. It’s best to use these tools in conjunction with the Background, Blend, and Color Selection tools, because they make it easier to make quick adjustments to your composition. When using these tools, it’s not uncommon to notice an odd looking/looking stroke around your image — Photoshop gave you the option of either coloring the edges or filling them with the color of your choice. This is a great tool that’s useful in a variety of different situations. When using the Shadow and Gradient tools, avoid applying them to your image. Because it can be a challenge to develop a design scheme that works across a variety of media and platforms, many designers often use Photoshop to create the base design and then tweak the colors with Adobe Fireworks or other programs.

Now, you can duplicate a layer on top of a different layer, then quickly move and flip the layers to change the destination without even leaving the program.
