Lightroom 5 and the new Camera Raw CC plug-in have quite a few new features. There are two problems with Lightroom: instability/performance issues and mastering it. Another problem is that Lightroom lacks image display features, such as display sharpening presets.

The new version of the Simple view is also a welcome addition, making it simpler to find specific photos. If you used Lightroom 4, you can’t use the smart collections, slideshows, or event calendars. You can, however, use the new projects feature and the Lens/filters panel to create collections of images and then bring them together into a single folder. However, even if you have version 4 or older Lightroom, you can still use this new Lightroom 5 feature by downloading the version 3.0.2 of Lightroom.

If you use version 5 of Adobe Lightroom, your target photo collection may be too large for the Import functions. Zhuge Liang fixed a problem that did not always clear the source directory of any new file before continuing to import images from a large collection. This may result in some image errors. A separate fix is needed for the Import operations. It should work better now.

Adobe took advantage of Emscripten, a tool that converts JavaScript into native machine code, to extract the image-manipulation parts of Photoshop from the original application and make them run in the browser.

Because browsers run on the server, it’s safe to ship JavaScript to browsers. So to ship the decompiled code, Adobe used the Emscripten plugin to convert and run the WebAssembly blob.
