Ive always used Adobe Photo Shop 7.0 for all my work. I just upgraded to Adobe Photoshop CS6 Premium and it makes my life much easier.We just used it for a wedding and I was a little dissappointed with the prepress process but I only used Photoshop. You will get used to it.
I am a graphic designer. In fact we are really small company and we use photoshop for all our projects. We mostly sell work to companies. And in that time we used to pay 50$ per user or more. I am addicted to photoshop and most times I use it to check what we have done and what have we missed. Also, I use it to do test printing and plan projects so as to avoid clients complaints. I love it so much but If I could I’d pay 200$ per month just for it. Thank you for this amazing program that I can use from anywhere around the world. Try it out and you’ll be hooked. Why do we use only one program when there are so many others out there.? We use only Photoshop. My opinion.
PSD files were very confusing and hard to learn and native PS support was even worse. I tought I will never learn it. I started to use Gimp. And my client started to hate me if I took more than 2 days to finish a project. And he really hates slow Gimp.
But the program made by Adobe makes PSD files and organizing them much easier. I dont know what audio and video plugins are for. I really dont care about those. But the pdf plugin, I love to use. I use Acrobat to create pdf files and the Adobe Dreamweaver in teamwork to create websites. And the email merge plugin I use for sending email announcements.
Finally I will tell you that the program is stable but they should improve the cloud thing and the progress bar. I always go in other programs to check if a folder already exists because Acrobat updates files immediately. But Adobe creates projects and store them in the cloud and I like that. But I cant go in other programs to check that if the files changed.
