Cracking Adobe Photoshop is not as straightforward as installing it. It requires a few steps to bypass the security measures that are in place. First, you must obtain a cracked version of the software from a trusted source.

Software cracking is illegal and should not be performed without prior consent. It is not for the feint of heart and can be dangerous – if you get caught doing it, you may be prosecuted and punished. Since it is illegal, it is your responsibility to ensure that you are using the software in the right manner and there are no security issues.

PSD designers love the Brush Profiles feature, and many say that they can actually use it instead of selling brushes and letting Photoshop do the work. For example, I’ve been using it to automatically select a duplicate foreground colour from the selection tool and add it to the gradient.

The biggest disappointment when I reviewed Photoshop 3 was its inability to edit layers in the Portrait format – where portraits are often shown as a collection of layers, most often on top of each other. The Control-C (“Copy”) and Control-X (“Cut”) features from the earlier versions continue to work as well – you can copy and paste portions of content from a layer into another blank layer. That said, they should be considered a legacy function, as they’re not at all intuitive, and using them for your everyday editing carries a little danger. The easiest way to insert a text string into a Photoshop file is to use the “Browse” option to locate the string. Then, you copy it and paste it into the file, as opposed to the Control-C/Control-X options.

When you edit in Photoshop, you likely want to work on specific layers and then apply the Effects to those layers. You can apply effects like vignette, glow, and lens blur to a layer, then group that layer with the other layers in the document and apply that effect to all layers in the group. An easy way to do this is to use the Blend options. Leaving the layers visible allows other users to see changes you make to the layers + visual feedback is always nice.

The Layer Styles are another feature you may want to use to edit the lighting in an image. It’s generally a bit more work than using brush or effects but can result in some very good results. Layer Styles are not a replacement for edits like vignette and glow filters, but they can certainly be used in conjunction with those techniques.

To apply an effect that requires more control and precision, you can use the Find and Replace commands. These commands allow you to search and replace images and text in a particular document. They can also allow you to replace an element of an image, which is helpful to keep your images original. (It does not work on text nodes.)

The Load Menu allows you to review the images and files currently in the image assembly, as well as the metadata associated with those images. To ignore the image files themselves, select “Ignore Files.” If you were managing some big RAW files this could potentially be a lifesaver.
