In a seminar/lecture/seminar, a professor said “open closed”, which I didn’t understand but looking into the ambiguity resolved by the page here, I didn’t find the meaning of the phrase.
For instance, the meaning of “open closed” could be :

“Open and closed” has the literal meaning of a box that can be opened (open) and closed (closed) like a zipper. If the box is closed, it is impossible to tell whether it is open or closed. If the box can be opened, it can be closed, and vice versa.
“Open and closed” has a very different meaning in computer science, where the “open” and “closed” refer to two states of a state machine. In an “open” state, which may also be referred to as an “accept state”, a single action can cause the machine to transition to another state (closed) and it’s possible to detect if the action has caused the machine to make a transition (this is called the “strong simulation” property of the state machine). An “open and closed” state machine also has the strong simulation property, but the “closed” state includes a predicate for not allowing any transition.
So in the computer science usage, “open and closed” is the terminology for a state machine with an accept state where an action is required to cause the machine to transition to a different state.
