The ETV was performed in children and adults. Age at the time of ETV ranged from 1 to 67 years (mean 15.8 ± 11.8 years). There was an etiology of hydrocephalus in 118 patients, including tumors in 35 patients, bacterial meningitis in 22 patients, idiopathic intracranial hypertension in 34 patients, traumatic head injury in 19 patients, previous operations in 19 patients, and congenital hydrocephalus in 2 patients. The clinical symptoms at presentation included obstructive hydrocephalus in 119 patients, communicating hydrocephalus in 120 patients, acute hydrocephalus in 9 patients, and headache in 12 patients.
