I wanted to load my project file, go to File > Open, select the file I had saved to my desktop, and open it.
Choose the size of the canvas by clicking and dragging the canvas edges. The white space at the top of the canvas will show the current canvas size, and you can resize it by clicking the edge of the canvas and dragging. You can also toggle the border around the canvas by clicking at the top or l on each side.
The black bar at the top of the screen acts as your toolbox. You can access the tools by clicking on one, and you can also see which tools are selected or active for editing the image by clicking on the active bar.
You can move the toolbox to any edge of the canvas by clicking and dragging it. You can zoom the canvas in and out (or toggle between actual zoom and page zoom, if you have the “page zoom” option checked in Adobe Reader).
