I must say that that I am quite relieved that it’s gone and I don’t miss it. Another change worth mentioning is the display of thumbnails. Previously, if you were to open a small, compact image, it wouldn’t show a whole lot of extra information. Now you get a really good view of the full resolution image, with a quick overview of what each area of the image consists of. It’s much more useful now and is a welcome change. If I am honest, there’s a lot to like in this new Lightroom 5, from the overall design to the AI tools. Overall, the interface is much more responsive and functions much smoother when working with large collections. The overall performance feels a little faster, too. As far as the AI tools are concerned, while they don’t provide a lot of new unique features and can be a bit frustrating at times, they are competent and functional (Slightly prejudiced, I know). What this version brings to the table for users like me is well-designed tools with a lot of usability enhancements that make Lightroom an extremely powerful piece of software, not just for photographers but for any user. Anyone with a recommendation of which of the third party mixers is best has to look no further than the Lightroom 5 interface. All you need to do is pick the tool up and stuff it in a frame.The AI tools in Photoshop don’t have the same quality, which isn’t necessarily a bad thing. With Lightroom 5, you won’t be pining for details in PS that you wouldn’t have in Lightroom, which makes everything all the more clear, much more customizable and a lot less bothersome.

A layer is an arrangement of elements that can be edited and used to make an image more interesting. Usually, a layer consists of an image, a color fill, a selection of colors, and a blended color. You can arrange the image and the color fill in Photoshop and create a new layer by clicking near the top of the Layers pallet. You can change the transparency of the layer, and edit the elements by clicking on the Edit toolbar or pressing the E key. When you first create a new layer, the layer is invisible. You use the Pen tool to select the new layer by clicking on the layer. The layer isn’t visible until you click on the Layer tab.
You can view new images in the main section of the screen. The left side of the desktop is divided into different panels. The free space on the left of the desktop is called the Layers panel.
