Google Imager is a small but useful tool that will enable you to automatically find artwork for your music files. When you run it, it prompts for a folder that should contain any number of folders corresponding to artists. Each artist’s folder should contain an album subdirectory, which in turn contains the music. Album names that contain a year prefix will ignore the year.

If you click on the “Online Help” icon Google Imager’s help file will open in the appropriate web browser. Once opened you will be able to see exactly what metadata will be downloaded. If you see something that you don’t want to have Google Imager download you can just right click on the title of the song or album and select “delete”.
Google Imager is a great program for those who like to make music. Because of the help that it provides, the ability to manipulate tags, and because of its price tag of only $15 it is definitely worth a download.

Google Imager
This program uses the Google Image Search Engine to find images for your MP3 music. It’s a great time saver, since you don’t have to find any images yourself. Just select an album and it will find the art automatically!
When you run the application, it asks you for a folder that should contain an album. For example, you might name it “Jimmie Rodgers”. If it’s empty, you can manually add folders as indicated below.
– Make a folder called “albums” and add the Artist’s name (which will be “Jimmie Rodgers”, for example) in the first column.
– Make another folder called “artists” and add the Artist’s name in the first column. You may also add other folders to artist as required.

If you run the application and get the “You have to select an artist for your album” message, you have done everything correctly, but have not put any folders in the artist’s folder.
If you want to add more artists, just go back to the window and repeat steps 1 to 3 above for each artist.
The program creates a folder, which will be named “Jimmie Rodgers” if you run it. If you run the program again, it will ask you for another folder for Jimmie Rodgers. If you want to add more artists, just open that folder, add the artist’s name in the first column, and then run the program again.
To add an image: click on the album in the left pane. Then, in the right pane, click on the small preview box (if there is already an image) to keep it. It will auto-advance to the next album. It creates a folder.jpg in each artist’s album subdirectory.
You can then do one of two things:
– Export the album by selecting the image in the browser window. It will copy the image, and add it to the tag database.
– Replace the art by selecting the image and clicking on the “Replace” button.
