Some image forming methods employ silver salts and are called the dry processes. The dry processes have various advantages that the wet processes such as the conventional processes such as electrophotography, thermal development and the like can not offer. For instance, there is no necessity of any particular means for keeping a dye image. In addition, the dry processes are excellent in view of the safety in handling as compared with the wet processes. Accordingly, the dry processes have been heretofore used for recording various matters such as images, electronic signals, character information and the like.
On the other hand, there are known a technique in which an image is formed by imagewise exposing a latent image recording material and heating the exposed material to cause the reaction in the exposed area and form a desired image (also called a photothermographic material, a photosensitive silver halide material) and a technique in which an image is formed by directly exposing a photosensitive image forming material to form a latent image in an image forming area and heating the exposed material to form a desired image (also called a photothermographic material). In these techniques, there have been required the wet processes and dry processes.
The photothermographic material is heated to a high temperature of about 80.degree. C. or higher, and is heated to a temperature of about 80.degree. C. or higher before and after the heat development. Accordingly, the photothermographic material is required to have a good stability against heat and to have a high sensitivity.
As the photothermographic material using an organic silver salt, there have been known the photothermographic material using organic silver salts having an active halogen (such as a silver chlorobromide and the like), a photothermographic material using a complex salt of organic silver and a halogen (such as a silver bromide, a silver iodide, a silver chlorobromide, a silver bromoiodide and the like), and a photothermographic material using organic silver salts containing a diazo group (such as a 2-pyrazoline-5-dicarbonitrile-1-silver salt and the like).
