Once downloaded and installed, click on the icon of CCleaner. The first time you will need to select which program to clean. Select Adobe Photoshop from the list and click on the “Start” button.
Once the installation process is done, you should see a black screen saying “You are done installing Photoshop on your computer… The last thing you will see is the option to reboot the machine when you are all done. Use the REBOOT button to let the machine restart.
Run the installer from the start menu under the Search section. If you are using an older version of Windows, go to Start menu and type in “Add/Remove Programs”. Follow the steps to find a download link for the latest Windows 10 installer. Install the software and wait for it to finish installing.
When working with large or 4K (3840×2160) images I noticed in LR5.2 RC that the preview of.png (Save for Web) files in the Develop module (“New Layer Thumbnail Measurment”) is not visible. Therefore the Approximate DPI in the image properties is set to default. When re-opening the file in Photoshop the “Exposure” slider in the L&R Preferences….”Image Pixel Size” dialog now refers to the Approximate DPI rather to the uncompressed file size. Not a big issue per-se, but this is just one more reason to prefer.psd files over.psmps files
For the first time I used this update thinking I’d be discovering new features. Instead I felt a bit left out. Likewise the couple of screenshots I took of my layout seem to lack a few widgets…but I’m sure I can get them back by opening the layout in LR5.2 Release Candidate. I didn’t pay attention to what I was supposed to see as the user updates. Well, next time I’ll better glance around at the news headlines, pull up a chat window and/or take a look at some blogs when I receive an email from Adobe telling me to upgrade. Just like ebay, I need to “browse” for the best bargains. I’m sorry to say, some people are just a little too eager for the status quo, and closing your eyes and ears to the experience of paying customers who never want to be in the same boat again.
Adobe should make it a little more obvious in the download page on the Shared Web Content Libraries that they are discussing the use of shared web content libraries and the auto-export of dailies to them. We know all the reasons why it is a bad idea to use shared web content libraries for the autosubmit of digital assets, but all the other advantages of such an approach for our users are being lost in the process. Adding a clear question for users to the download page asking “Are you aware that your dailies will be exported to the library?” would be a good first step. We also need to be more aware of the fact that content libraries are for web content and not for tagged images or images shot up to 2560×1920. We need to legally restrict the use of content libraries by the libraries themselves and users who choose to use such a distribution method. In the end, the libraries are not your responsibility. Your only responsibility is to your client.
And as CreativeCloud members, we’ve also announced Windows and Mac users will be able to download Photoshop today to get greater control with Photoshop on their favorite PC and Mac and future updates soon to take it even further. Photoshop is also now available on iOS and Android, too, and we’re still in the process of ironing out the final details on when in 2020 it’s available to the general public.

And speaking of new features, here’s a sampling of what’s on the horizon for 2016. For example, you’ll have the option to apply double-whammy changes – that is, changes that apply both to the foreground and background layers of an image. If, for example, you’re working on a slide background and want to apply some spot colors to the foreground layer, you’ll have the option to ensure that same red goes full-screen in the area that the spot colors are applied. That version of the background layer will be fully visible, while the foreground layer remains invisible.
