ok, it is way better than Gimp but, as long as it is run out of wine. I think there is something about the Corporation of “Adobe” and their endless barrage of commercials(with that awful, tuneless melody they tell you to “just close your eyes and imagine” but, I guess, that’s in part, because that’s what the competition sells too, and that’s what sells in the end) that turns me off. To be blunt, I’m not that interested to see me running software that has no “peaceful” alternatives. When I see irrelevant commercials, I start to feel cheated.

The new selection feature powered by Adobe Sensei is called Share for Review, because once you’ve made a selection, you can now share it with other users for online review and comment. People can leave responses inside the layer itself, or they can even draw on the photo or video and add annotations. Users who are in a different part of the project can suggest what should be done to fix the problem they’re working on, and they can be invited to comment. Once the person at the other end accepts the comment, you and the other users can continue working on the project together.
“Photoshop is the best image editor,” said Richard Whittingham, Senior Vice President of Creative and Marketing at Adobe. “With Share for Review, we’re adding the intelligence of the app to the web, so you can work side-by-side with other users in Photoshop.”
Other new features in the Photoshop app include activity for choosing and running actions, and real-time previews in the Photoshop panel. Activity lets you choose tools like text, web, or select regions to add an action—such as adjusting color or converting a logo—or turn this workflow into a sequence of steps. Real-time previews use the same dynamic workspace as Photoshop Capture, letting you see how your latest edits will appear in your last image. If you’re taking a complicated photo and want to fine-tune your image in real-time, you can now use the Zoom tool in the workspace
Additional new features include support for Adobe Sensei AI, which can remove unwanted objects or create a virtual version of them within Photoshop. Models capture the perfect expression, facial details and even skin texture based on unique marker sets. You can also use the selection tool to create a shape from elements found in the image, or you can even make a single line from the model’s face.

In this update, Adobe is adding a brand-new relationship selection tool that makes it easy to select relationships between photos and objects in images. With new controls, you can quickly select the object or photo that you want to further manipulate. To add a new element, click+ drag on the selected object to create a relationship, and then continue to drag and drop again.
The new history panel in Photoshop becomes particularly useful in the Intelligent Zoom tool because it lets you see more onscreen when zoomed in, while retaining the context of the original image, including layers, where appropriate.
With an enhanced Pre-AIC filter, you’ll be able to combine images and photos more easily. Thanks to the new Pre-AIC feature, you can make basic adjustments—like removing color casts or contrast, or sharpening a section of an image—and then combine the corrected photos or images into a new picture. And you can trim and crop photos with a tool that automatically finds the shots you want and then crops them. You have the power to combine images without the need for complicated instructions or more clicks.
The new transparency settings are particularly helpful, as the transparency tool now uses multi-step blending and allows you to mask parts of the original image to provide a cleaner, better blending result without artifacts from the original.
With Photoshop on the Web, you can easily collaborate with others on your favorite photos. Pick up where you left off in editing a family photo in the web version. With Elements, you can share your photo with a friend or colleague, and they, in turn, can edit or modify a portion of your photo without having to get a localized copy of Photoshop. They can simply use their browser to open the web version of the file and work with the file as if it’s on their own hard drive. This organization and sharing capabilities start any time you save an image on the web. Photoshop on the Web works with all supported browser types. For instance, I save a photo on my desktop and then open it through my browser. I can then get a web view of the file from Elements. This enables me to collaborate seamlessly with someone else who’s editing the file just as if they were on my system. Of course, the latest versions of Elements now work on mobile devices, too.
