TimeGen is an engineering CAD utility which allows a digital design engineer the capability to quickly and effectively draw digital timing diagrams.
The waveforms can easily be exported to other Window programs, such as Microsoft Word, for use in writing design specifications.
Here are some key features of “TimeGen”:
■ Clocks, signals, and buses can have attributes of: ideal/non ideal, rising and
■ falling edge arrows, delays, divided clocks, font type, font size, color.
■ Text Boxes can be attached, or unattached, to the signals. Each text box has
■ attributes of font style, font size, and color.
■ Invalid Regions are easy to add by just drawing onto the diagram with your
■ mouse, just like a paint tool. You can adjust the color, as well as style.
■ Signal Relationships using arrows show a cause and effect. Just two mouse
■ clicks can create an arrow. The arrows are anchored to the signals.
■ Toolbar icons are easy to access and understand. As you modify the
■ waveforms, TimeGen redraws them in real time. When you are done, just
■ copy and paste your waveform into Microsoft Word. Results are fast!
■ Export to clipboard (Copy/Paste) instantly to MSWord
■ Ability to add/modify clocks, signals, buses
■ Add signal arrow relationships, and invalid regions
■ Add and subtract signal delays, text boxes, and more
■ On the fly changes in real time.
■ New Hi-Z tool!
■ Shift clock cycles left or right
■ Ability to partially cut, copy, paste, or invert a signal
■ Improved editing and selection tool
■ International keyboard support
■ Configurable clock cycle labels

Students should understand that while many people who are knowledgeable and informed about a subject will take the time to do a thorough job, others who take shortcuts will not do the job well. Students should not necessarily understand all of the principles and laws of a subject to the point of being able to manipulate and create them; however, a basic understanding of the basics is needed. For students to have this understanding, they should have some basic knowledge of these issues:
Students must understand the difference between “plagiarism” and “lack of citation”. They should be aware of the difference between plagiarism, cheating, academic dishonesty and misuse of sources.
Students must understand the difference between fair use and copyright infringement. They should know what constitutes fair use and how to determine if a particular use is copyright infringement.
Students must understand that a copyright violation is a serious matter and that the law in the US is not always fair and just, which is why it is important to have a lawyer or someone who knows the law on your side.
Students must understand that the law differs greatly from state to state, province to province, and country to country, and is never the same for students in one country as it is for students in another.
Students must understand that while the law may allow you to use a source, they must always be careful to not misrepresent the source or treat it disrespectfully.
Students must understand that while using sources can sometimes make it easier for them to understand a subject, they must not use a source if they are not sure it will be helpful.
Students must understand that all texts must be cited and all sources must be cited in their work. This means that student’s own words should not be copied without attribution or citation. Students must be able to properly cite their sources if asked to. If a student has a very good reason for not citing their sources, they must ask themselves if it is worth cheating. There is no excuse.
Students must understand that it is their responsibility to support their work with evidence. This means that a student’s own work must not be “self-supporting” or cannot stand by itself. They should do as much as they can to find primary and secondary sources before they write.
Students must understand that the search for sources is an important part of the process and they must treat it as such. They should read the assignment and determine the sources needed by looking at it, talking to the instructor, or making a list of questions.
Students should understand that sometimes a

What’s New In TimeGen Timing Diagram Editor?

■ Diagrams are built from blocks and/or signals. A block may be
■ either a static clock (by default), or a dynamic clock. Dynamic
■ clocks are easy to create and modify. A block may be either a
■ positive edge, negative edge, or both edge type.
■ A signal may be a positive edge, negative edge, or both edge type.
■ Any amount of signal delay can be set up for each signal. Signals are
■ not necessarily constrained by clock edges. The amount of delay can be
■ set as any positive, or negative time.
■ A single signal can have up to three text boxes and a single clock
■ box. There is a clock box for every clock. There is a text box for
■ every signal in the diagram. The text boxes can be either attached
■ to the signals or unattached.
■ Timing diagram controls are fully customizable. By clicking on the
■ desired control, a dialog box opens with an extensive list of
■ controls. You can configure each control to have a default
■ appearance, or you can modify it to have its own appearance.
■ A hierarchical scheme of controls are also available. You can add
■ multiple groups of controls at the top level, and then sub-groups of
■ controls in those groups.
■ A palette of colors can be used to style any control. An
■ optional palette of colors can be used to color the waveform of a
■ signal. A background palette can be used to style the waveform.
■ The waveform can also be colored by either a signal’s color or
■ its delay.
■ A simple multi-platform GUI is used.
■ A Hi-Z icon tool is used to trim high-frequency sections of a
■ signal.
■ Hi-Z tools are used to trim low-frequency sections of a signal.
■ Invalid regions are an easy way to remove extra white space on a
■ waveform, and are easily added and adjusted.
■ A simple format for block names is used.
■ An optional multi-segment signal delay control can be set up.
