Cracking Adobe Photoshop is a bit more involved, but it can be done. First, you’ll need to download a program called a keygen. This is a program that will generate a valid serial number for you, so that you can activate the full version of the software without having to pay for it. After the keygen is downloaded, run it and generate a valid serial number. Then, launch Adobe Photoshop and enter the serial number. You should now have a fully functional version of the software. Just remember, cracking software is illegal and punishable by law, so use it at your own risk.

In my opinion, the most revolutionary, exciting and hassle-free option, however, is the new Instant Lookup function in Lightroom. The biggest advantage over the traditional combo of Photoshop and Bridge is that you can instantly search an entire PCLibrary of SD cards, Camera Raw/Adobe DNG’s and other libraries. You don’t have to choose, download or process large files, because the process is streamlined to only the images you need.

One of the odd things about designing a professional photo app is that it usually sort of talks dirty. When you’re designing software for professionals, you usually need to add things like bulk orders, tax exemptions, and other contractual obligations. Such things don’t matter for casual photo apps, but there’s a lot of legalese you need to add to whatever you decide to do. And I’m not a lawyer, so don’t take this as legal advice. But I just wanted to give you the lay out here.

And your pricing might not look so good because you’d have to figure out how to put aside the tax-equivalent for their pricing and have to come up with a way to calculate all the rest, including the large number of tests and analyses that are done just to judge a professional sounding app. Unfortunately I’m still not positive if anyone is really interested in such a thing, but we’ll see.

I’ve been waiting for the new Photoshop since they announced it in 2010. If they had released that in April I might have been able to make the claim that it was a necessary upgrade, but their release schedule has been pretty much impossible to predict, so I’m a little late. I’ll reserve judgement until I can sit down with it and use it for a few days before I consider it something that is really significant for me and my work. It would have helped if they had kept the color look-up table option in the new version, because it’s one of the most important things in Photoshop. Most of what I do is in color, and even working without it makes me feel like I’m missing something and making compromises.
